discipleship.
Following Jesus’ example of making lifelong disciples.
Our heart at St Aldates is to see people not only come to know Jesus, but to go ever deeper in their walk with him. If you’re a new follower of Jesus, still seeking and asking questions or you’ve been a Christian for years, none of us were ever meant to walk this journey alone.
We have two discipleship pathways, Good Ground and Break Ground, which run each term. Our aim is to support your discipleship growth, wherever you are in your relationship with Jesus.
Recently come to faith? Or still wanting to grow after Alpha?
On this discipleship pathway for new believer and seekers, you’ll be linked with a pair of disciple-making mentors and fellow mentees in a group.
Over seven weeks, you’ll meet together, do a simple and accessible bible study, share your lives, and pray for each other. Group mentors seek to guide you personally as well as together as a group. Good Ground is a space for honest conversations, seeking God and having fun with others!
‘The journey of Good Ground has changed me in so many ways... I am standing on good ground when I read the bible now, when I talk to friends, when I think about my faith. It’s soil that will not crumble and it’s here to stay’. - Cooper
Our next Good Ground course:

Hungry to grow in spiritual maturity? To go deeper as a disciple of Jesus?
This discipleship pathway for mature believers is designed to break up the ‘unploughed ground’ in our lives in order to experience fresh growth in our relationship with Jesus and release all that God has for us.
Over seven weeks you and your fellow mentees will meet with a pair of disciple-making mentors. Together you will engage with a discipleship book, share life and pray for each other. Your mentors are dedicated to deepening your formation, guiding you personally as well as together as a group.
‘Being part of a group was brilliant because we could all bring our different experiences to the table and support and encourage each other’. - Amber
