Safe and affordable accommodation for internationals at the heart of Oxford

Oxford is a world-class city, attracting academics, students and workers from all parts of the globe.  That may sound exciting, but in reality some struggle with loneliness or feel overwhelmed and alone in such a culturally different setting.

 Commonwealth House was set up over 50 years ago to provide a “Home Away From Home”.  Its mission is to provide safe and affordable accommodation for internationals at the heart of Oxford in a supportive community with a distinctive Christian ethos.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of faith or creed and the 70 residents enjoy community and friendship as they share cross-cultural experiences through a variety of social events. 

St Aldates works closely with Commonwealth House and is delighted to welcome residents to our events and services.  Through our Internationals Ministry, we host regular joint celebrations, free English classes and opportunities to explore the Christian faith.
