Continuing our series on the Holy Spirit, Simon encourages us to not stay static in our pursuit of God. God is moving toward us in love and wants be present in your future. The Holy Spirit fills us with the knowledge of God and deepens our personal relationship with the Father.

Colossians 1:9-12

Speaking to his disciples, Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would be with us forever. But who is the Holy Spirit, and what difference does he make in our everyday lives? Stephen encourages us to be holy, which is only possible because the spirit of the sovereign Lord lives in us.

John 14.15-26

The church in Acts was on fire for Jesus - having been filled with the Holy Spirit, these Christians were marked by their distinctive lifestyle, and the community grew exponentially. This week, pastor of theology Simon Ponsonby launched our Holy Spirit series, looking at how the early church’s rhythm of life helps us to be fully alive, walking in the power of the Spirit, and working to transform our communities.

Acts 2.42-47

We can’t pray come Holy Spirit if we’re not prepared to go with the Holy Spirit. But the Spirit gives us power and boldness and freedom to go where he leads us. Let’s be re-filled with the presence of the Spirit this Pentecost as we walk with integrity in our daily lives.

When we are filled by the Spirit, led by the Spirit, and transformed by the Spirit, our lives will naturally witness to Jesus. This Pentecost, Simon encourages us to be filled by the Spirit, and transformed to be individuals who live wholeheartedly for him.

Acts 1:8 “You will receive power when the Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the Earth.”
