You and your children are loved by God! Here at St Aldates, we want to offer a second home for children in Oxford, where they can grow in their relationship with God as their Father, know the Lord Jesus and experience the presence of the Holy Spirit – while also feeling safe, loved and valued as members of the church family.

Children’s Church runs most Sundays throughout the year, with different activities on at half term and the end of term.
On a typical Sunday:
There will be leaders welcoming you in the entrance area of the church from 10am, where you can sign in your child and get more information about Children’s Church. We begin in the church at 10:30am to worship together as a church family, before heading out into 9 different groups:
Pioneers: 6–18 months
Wobblers: 18 months–2 years
Tumblers: 2–3½ years
Scramblers: 3½–5 years
Climbers: Year 1–Year 2
Explorers: Year 3–Year 4
Pathfinders: Year 5–Year 6
Challenge: Year 7-Year 8
MORE: Year 9- Year 10
Some of the groups leave at different points in the service, so please watch for on-screen notices.
We have an enthusiastic team of over 50 volunteers, who receive regular training and abide by the Diocese of Oxford safeguarding policy. The team is led by Nina Kristin Oskarsdottir (Families Pastor), Naomi Grace Smith (Assistant Children’s Pastor) and Ellie Clear (Youth Pastor), as well as the children’s and youth department interns.
Throughout the year we also have parties, sleepovers, weekends away and holiday clubs for different groups in children’s church. If you choose to sign your child up for Children’s Church, you can also sign up for our weekly update to find out more about what’s going in Children’s Church and other family friendly events at St Aldates.
